- Emirates introduces its safety and hygiene standards as regular flights schedules resumed
- Passengers and crew are instructed to wear masks and gloves at Dubai International Airport
- Social distancing must be strictly observed
- Safety measures include complimentary hygiene kits for passengers
Dubai-based Emirates airline resumed its regular scheduled flights on Thursday. To prevent the spread of Covid19, Emirates introduces precautionary measures for passengers and crew.
Dubai International Airport strictly ordered all employees and customers to wear masks and gloves inside the airport. However, only masks are required on flights.
When passengers arrive at the airport, all passengers and employees will be checked using thermal scanners. Social distancing is strictly observed. There will be physical distancing signs and markers on the ground, waiting areas, check-in counters, immigration checkpoints, boarding, and transfer areas.
Emirates will be handing complimentary hygiene kits that contain masks, gloves, antibacterial wipes, and hand sanitizers to all passengers upon check-in.
According to Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer, “the risk of catching an infection on an aircraft is already very low, but we have spared no effort in reviewing and redesigning every step, from check-in to disembarkation. Every measure implemented is an additional reduction in risk and taken altogether, our aim is really to make flying as safe as possible.”
Also, all Emirates aircraft will be cleaned and disinfected and free from germs and harmful bacteria. Emirates also ensures that all toilets from planes with over one-and-a-half hours of flights will be cleaned every 45 minutes.
