Netflix is one of the best online streaming services. With over 130 million membership, it is now available in more than 190 countries worldwide. But what happens if you subscribed to Netflix and you haven’t used it in ages?
According to Netflix, they have less than half of one percent inactive accounts. This month, the company will start canceling subscriptions that haven’t been used for a year. The same will be done with those inactive accounts for more than two years.
Starting this week, Netflix inactive members will begin seeing emails and app notifications to confirm continuous subscription. If they don’t approve, their account will be automatically canceled.
According to Eddy Wu, Product Innovation Director, “We’ve always thought it should be easy to sign up and to cancel. So, as always, anyone who cancels their account and then rejoins within ten months will still have their favorites, profiles, viewing preferences, and account details just as they left them. In the meantime, we hope this new approach saves people some hard-earned cash.”
